Real Estate Copywriting Beginner Tips for Rack Cards

real estate copywritingRack cards are an excellent and inexpensive way to reach potential customers. Rack cards are very popular at hotels, restaurants, and travel locations where visitors to a location or those that have just moved into a town frequent. Because printing rack cards is fairly inexpensive, they are an easy way to promote your business. However, when writing real estate copy for these types of advertisements, there are several tips that can help you be sure your cards are noticed over your competition.

Short, Attention-Grabbing Titles

In order for potential customers to pick up your rack card, you must have an attention-grabbing title. Many experts advise using action words that draw attention to the card, such as money, sale, discount, discover or other words that will make a potential customer pick up the card to read more about your company. Short titles work best as customers tend not to read past the first two or three words of a title.

Address Benefits to the Customer

When writing the copy for your racks cards, rather than focus on what your company offers, focus on how your company can benefit the customer. Put yourself in the customer’s shoes and think about how the services your company offers can benefit the customer. For example, a daycare center may create rack card copy which describes last-minute drop-in services for the busy parent who may have a sudden need for daycare. A fitness center could explain how their “no contract” policy allows visitors to keep fit even while on vacation. Focusing on the customer in the copy of your rack card may result in more customers following your call to action.

Use Short Sentences and Concise Language

Shorter sentences and paragraphs are more likely to get a customer to read the copy on your rack card. Keep plenty of white space between paragraphs and be sure to quickly get to the point in each section. Often, customers who pick up rack cards are picking them up to take somewhere else where they can read through them more thoroughly. By keeping paragraphs short and to the point, your rack card may get quicker attention than your competitors and customers will be more likely to remember your points if they are clear and concise.

Rack cards are simple, inexpensive ways to get your message out to customers. By following these simple tips, you can achieve better results with your rack cards and develop an even bigger customer base.
